Mercedes-Benz AR Configurator

The AR project for Mercedes-Benz is an augmented reality application that lets users configure a car's appearance, features, and equipment without leaving the showroom. Users can select colors and shades from the Mercedes collection, visualize them on a real car through their device's screen, and customize wheels, design, interior layout, upholstery, seat materials, features, and additional functions. The app also includes a voice assistant that highlights the car's advantages and answers user questions, integrating seamlessly with the sales department's CRM system for booking test drives and connecting with sales.

Challenge & approach
Mercedes-Benz conceived the idea of an interactive digital salesperson. The goal was to create an application that introduces potential buyers to all the car's advantages, allows them to configure the car to their preferences, and visualizes it in the chosen configuration.
Immercity provided a solution using augmented reality and a voice assistant in a mobile application. This innovative approach aimed to enhance the customer experience at the point of sale, making the car-buying process more engaging and personalized.

The application uses object tracking in augmented reality, with the entire car serving as a marker for computer vision. This allows multiple users to interact with the car simultaneously from any angle. The AR app features a highly detailed 3D model of the car overlaid on the real vehicle,
enabling users to compare their chosen configuration with the actual car.
In the first month at the initial sales point, around 2000 users interacted with the app, resulting in over 500 test drive requests. Due to its success, Mercedes-Benz expanded the app's usage to more than 50 sales points.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
